It was 3 opinions on the electric guitar, 3 different styles. Edge is a beliver in using effects, Jack White believes that effects ruin what playing the guitar is all about.
I can see why he was there, to give a different view on the electric guitar, although I would've preferred someone like Keith Richards.

I haven't seen this film but if Edge, White and Page are it's only subjects then it left MANY sides of the electric guitar out.
For one, none of these guys are technical virtuosos, so why not balance it out with someone who is? Like Steve Vai or Eric Johnson? Why not early rock n roll pioneers like Chuck Berry or Scotty Moore? Why not session guys who remain behind the scenes? Why aren't any metal guys represented? Why not anyone outside of rock music like blues or jazz men? Why not some avant garde guys who do weird and interesting things with the guitar that no one would have ever thought of like Robert Fripp or Glenn Branca?
These guys need to learn a few things if they think only 3 guitarists are enough to tell the complete story of the electric guitar.
