Talk Talk

This is a compilation I did a while back for MB and as I am listening to the band tonight I trawled the archives and found that the link is still active so here it is.

Talk Talk began life in the early 80's as a synth pop band but even with their debut release The Party's Over they were a band slightly out of step with the sound at that time in 80's Britain with main man Mark Hollis's melancholy lyrics and vocals promising something more and with each subsequent release and Hollis's serious drug problem gave us much more experimental albums.

Now regarded as one of the first and best Post Rock bands with releases such as Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock standing defiantly obtuse with the slight Jazz influences and ambient passages laying a blueprint for the crescendos that are now the norm in Post Rock.

Talk Talk remain one of musics most original bands and their legacy is still felt today.

Tracklisting:

1) Ascension Day
2) Eden
3) I Don't Believe In You
4) Desire
5) I Believe In You
6) Have You Heard The News?
7) Living In Another World
8) Time It's Time

Yada Yada

EDIT: 4 of the tracks are WMA but most non windows media players can play these files.
