Fuck U2. Just puttin' it out there.
Anyhoot, of course I'm American. You can tell that by my total lack of sophistication. Most of my favorite bands and artists are American, and my collection is vast. Maybe not as far-reaching as some, but farther than most. But then again, I like a lot of U.K. and European acts (King Crimson, The Clash, Gojira, Dimmu Borgir, Opeth, John Lennon to name a few), and even a few South American, Asian and Australian bands. But most of my collection is American, which forces my hand to go with the U.S.
Also, an interesting point needs to be addressed. What should the Jimi Hendrix Experience be considered? Their frontman was American, and a lot of the music and lyric styling was quintessentially American, but he did get his start in Great Britain, and his rhythm section was British. ???????
