Yeah dark ambient is definitely not for everyone. It's a genre of music that's good for passive listening. As in, you're not listening to the music explicitly and are doing something else at the time.

Yeah I used to hate stuff that sounded outdated but the melody is so unbelievably catchy that I can't help but love it.
