The only thing I didn't like about Hook was Julia Roberts as Tinkerbell, and she wasn't bad so much as she was miscast. Tinkerbell is one of those classic silent characters like Charlie Chaplin's Tramp, Harpo Marx, Wyile Coyote, Tom and Jerry and Link from Legend of Zelda. She shouldn't talk.

I voted Lord of the Rings, the movie had everything as far as adventure and battle scenes, the GGI was amazing, and the scenery of New Zealand was spectacular, I loved everything about that movie except Gollum, that character was so annoying, his voice and everything about him grated my nerves. Besides that, I think it was a great cast, I love Cate Blanchett and Liv Taylor.

Oh c'mon, Gollum is awesome. The CGI and facial expression work was amazing, but he probably had the best performance oddly enough. It's a great character.

JRR Tolkien was the father of modern fantasy and everything from Star Wars to Star Trek pays homage to LOTR in some way. I'm kind of fascinated that he was freinds with C.S. Lewis, who also wrote his own fantasy adventure The Chronicles of Narnia, too bad that was not included in the poll.

Tolkien and Lewis's interpretation of fantasical creatures and elements has become the standard of fantasy today. When you see movies or books with Elves or Dwarves or Orcs in it, it's almost always inspired by Tolkein or Lewis's take on these races.
WoW for example, there's hardly anything in it that isn't ripped straight out of middle earth or narnia, is that a bad thing? No, they're wonderful worlds, there's nothing wrong with books, movies and games wanting to constantly revisit and present middle earth or narnia like imagery in new ways.
Though I would like to see more fantasy with more original settings and creatures.
