I saw Gran Torino at the cinema on a whim and thought it was fantastic and heartwarming. I particularly liked the theme of persistence against all odds; e.g. Thao's family plying Walt with food even though he didn't want it, the priest trying to convince Walt to go to confession, Walt shaping Thao etc.

I've been meaning to watch this since I loved This is England.
The last film I saw was the Shining which, needless to say, is an awesome classic of the genre. No surprise I love it since Nicholson is my fav actor.
Might rewatch Being John Malkovich tonight.
