I like this thread. I agree with everyone so far when they say this shouldnt be viewed as a necessity but i know you aren't thinking of it that way so that's cool. Genuinely wanting to listen to and discover music that is new to you or that falls outside of your comfort zone is, in my experience, a very enjoyable and rewarding journey and since i joined this site i've been doing a lot of it.
You already know that i think you should start with some Massive Attack
and i'll also get you that Alcest record among other things for now.
