Nobody ever brings that argument up about Vincent Van Goh, who did exactly that. Suicide is either brought on by shame, some underlying mental health problem, or severe pain. Of the three it's likely he had two - depression and a pinched stomach nerve... not to mention a severe drug addiction which he tried and failed to quit numorous times after his daughter was born. It's music of the tourtured soul... yes he suffered but damn the music that came out it was brilliant.

And Nirvana certainly weren't "whiny".
