Don't understand the love for this one (I think it's even included on some top 100 sci-fi films list??), isn't it kinda like King Kong only with a robot? Anyhoo, I thought it was too predictable and kinda boring. :\
My favorite would have to be Finding Nemo, the best story, best direction and story development, the
funniest (probably Ellen Degeneres' finest moments) and by far the best list of supporting characters of any animated film I've seen with a pretty good message behind it. Nothing else is as consistently good as this film (for example, there's a pretty obvious disparity between the first 40 minutes of Wall-e, which are brilliant, and the rest of the film).
So yeah, Nemo all the way.
As far as classical animation goes, Princess Mononoke was the most impressive but I haven't seen it in a while.
