Sorry, I meant to say safety razor. OOOPS.
Though a straight razor could work just as well (actually better if you want a REALLY close shave) as long as it's being done by someone who is skillful with it, though unless you can find a buddhist monk or something I would stick with a safety razor.
The Japanese and Chinese seem to really prefer straight razors though, I've yet to see a Japanese or Chinese girl shave without one.
