I just discovered this, and thought I would share. I'm not a big comic geek or anything, but I grew up reading Uncle Scrooge, Garfield, Calvin & Hobbes, and Mad Magazine, and have fond memories of long winter days spent reading them.
Today I discovered that these are
all available electronically. They are essentially scans that have been archived into a special format called CBR (Comic-RAR). There are lots of readers out there, but the best I've found is Comic Rack.

Comics can be a bit big, that's the only downside. A full collection of Garfiled, for example, is 300mb, and a full collection of Calvin & Hobbes in high resolution is several gigabytes. But anyone interested in re-visiting some old childhood fun might want to check it out
