My list is pretty obvious but wtf right?

01. Devin Townsend (Solo, Strapping Young Lad, IR8, Punky Bruster)

Doesn't matter if he's playing extreme metal, progressive rock, or punk his vocals work for all situations. Commanding, powerful, melodic, beautiful, and downright scary, those are all words to describe his vocals. He is truly one of metals finer gems, with his intelligence, talent, and uniqueness he is someone you can hold up high and say "I like metal because of THIS guy right here".

02. Mikael Ã…kerfeldt (Opeth, Bloodbath)

He's on just about everyone's list and for good reason. His growls are some of the best, most guttural and commanding out of all the death metal vocalists I've heard. Better yet he has some of the best melodic vocals which make it a lot of fun to turn on someone who ignorantly says "death metal vocalists can't sing, they just scream" you can tell them to listen to Damnation and STFU.

03. Peter Steele (Type O Negative)

Honestly it was a toss up between Peter Steele and Bruce Dickinson, but after much internal debate on the toilet I reached my decision. I got into Type O Negative and Iron Maiden around the exact same time (about two weeks apart if I'm not mistaken) and while I loved (and still do) both bands, I found I could listen to Peter Steele's voice over and over again whereas with Bruce I could go about two album spins before it would start to grate and I'd need to switch to something else.
