Today I started a Powerball Lotto pool at school. 10 folks, including my Operating Systems class instructor. The tickets are in a safe, and we all have copies of all the numbers.
At first, I was excited. I'd never played the Lotto before. Then as the day wore on, the gradual sinking realization of the astronomical odds took the kick out of it and the draw hasn't even happened yet. (2 hours to go)
I take this as a sign that I'm either far too realistic to enjoy possibilities, or just far too cynical.
