That's pretty much the internet - good stuff and a lot of crap too. A bit like dumpster diving. Oh, yeah, I know know Mike McClure, Stoney, and the bunch. I also like what's being called the Mississippi hill country blues (I didn't know Mississippi had hills, just delta)
Sure, I'm always open to recommendations, enjoy them actually. That's the best way to find the good stuff that never gets mainstream. My tastes are really broad - blues, folk, bluegrass, cajun, alt-country, all the way into African and Latin. Please no rap or hip hop, hee hee. It just leaves me cold, doesn't even feel like music to me. And I love music. My oldest son is a folkie, and my youngest is a metalhead, go figure. Still, I don't know why, but the darker stuff really resonates. When I first heard 16 Horsespower, I was gobsmacked. Same with O'Death....
