these are downloads from over the last four days

A 1997 compilation of Converge's early stuff from 1994 onwards. I am more partial to the honed brutality of their breakfroo 'Jane Doe', but this sits comfortably between that and the old school thrash I have been enjoying over the wochenende (albeit with a technical edge).

Deathspell Omega 'Si Monvmentvm Reqvires, Circvmspice' (2004)
Another uncompromisingly harsh album with an experimental edge to it, it's black metal that somehow escapes corniness. I am finding this stuff great to do course reading to. I am frustrated by the indecipherable lyrics and would gladly fork out for the CD mit lyrics if i thought they would be anything more than satanist cliche

(1972)
Long time coming, I was swayed by it's inclusion in Anteater/Comus/Tore's prog beginner's guide and Comus' review of it which mentions it as being the first album to feature dual lead guitars. Laid back prog / dad rock classic, have been putting it through it's paces
