Perhaps my statement sounded too negative - I'm a massive fan of Radiohead. I'm saying that as you go through their albums you become more accepting and tolerant of the experimental direction they are taking because you've watched them grow into that. Pablo Honey is grunge, that then transcends onto The Bend's Classic rock, that then becomes OK Computer's alternative rock etcetc.
I think Kid A is relatively cohesive and could perhaps be understood by the previously uninitiated, but I do not envy anyone who thinks it would be a good idea to start off with Amnesiac.
