I saw Alexisonfire at the annual 'Soundwave Festival' (I'm pretty sure its just an Australian festival?) in 2008 and saw Maylene and the Sons of Disaster at the same festival in 2009 (earlier this year.) that familiar with either band I can't really comment in depth except to say that they were entertaining. Alexisonfire had a huge crowd and it was bloody insane (I almost died) and MATSOD had a tiny, tiny stage and small crowd which was a little disappointing but also good because I was in the front row! Both worthy to check out live, though.
