Be honest, guys, they are copying MBV far more than they are copying Joy Division, The Church, JAMC (although effects levels are similar), Sisters of Mercy, or REM.
Although I do suffer from nostalgia, I do want to give new bands a chance but my opinion stands on their (1st) album. I like what they are doing and I think they have a lot of potential but I listened to it a few times and my impression got more solid each time. They need to find their sound.

Loose Lips - ask me about any new shoegaze band and I will give you a more precise answer about who they are copying if you want. For APTBS it is MBV.
