I added Labyrinth to the list simply because it looks a bit fairy-ish, but not in the dark pan's labyrinth way. Elves and bright lights in the forest shooting bows around bonfires. Legend (with Tom Cruise and Tim Curry) could've been a better fit than Labyrinth actually. It's got the lush forest visuals!

Ah Legend, I actually liked that movie and find it to be one of Ridley Scott's most underrated films.
The aliens do kinda remind me of characters out of an RPG game, but I also found District 9 to be a bit video gamish and that dosen't really bother me. I am impressed by the animation work done on the aliens and their expressions. And the backgrounds with the flouting mountains are amazing.
If some of the ideas here seem kinda dated, I guess it's because this movie is 12 years in the making, but I like movies with an old school feel and this one might capture that despite the 3D gimmick.
I usually hate 3D I'm actually looking forward to how this movie will look in 3D.
