Were you smoking it correctly? I dont want to wear it out, but you need to to feel the effects of salvia. It NEEDS to be smoked in a pipe, and the way to do it is: pack the bowl full and fairly tight, get you lighter over the bowl and keep the lighter on it as you inhale the whole entire bowl in one hoot, then, hold it in until you can barely hold your breath any longer, until you HAVE to let it out, it should hit you like a tone of bricks within a couple seconds.
