And while you're at it, explain to us why The Ramones were the pinnacle of originality.

The Clash = One of the most original, talented and ambitious early punk bands.

Ramones = Bay City Rollers as performed by less talented musicians with distorted guitars who only knew how to play in one key.

Ok, that may be a bit harsh, but it's mostly the truth.

the clash rips off-the who, bo diddley, sex pistols, bob dylan, ska groups

...yes they played an eclectic blend of music, but all of the music they played had existed before, and most of their songs are genre exercises-- most wedding bands know how to play a bit of everything.

....Yeah the Ramones ripped off 60's pop, but johnny's guitar playing, as simple as it was, was nothing short of revolutionary.
The Ramones are/were the pinnacle of originality.
