Loved the production on this, definitely ahead of the curve with how much attention it pays to atmosphere, the guitar work in particular stands out, and I sort of can hear the Mars Volta influence. Wouldn't agree that it is incredibly progressive, there are plenty of hip hop acts that push the envelope further as far as experimenting goes.
I should say that the solo at the end of Beautiful Freak is one of my favourite musical moments from 08, soooo good. If only 2mex were a better lyricist.
