Below are the lyrics of a song by Yusuf (formerly Cat Stevens) that moves me very much. I like the honesty and simplicity of the lyrics and the room he gives in them for interpretation (which may also just mean that the lyrics are somewhat vague). Although as an atheist I do not believe souls or gods exist (as described in his song), I relate to the sense of self and introspection he describes. I feel the song shows someone who has learned to be at peace with the journey of life, much of which we can't control but some of which we can, such as by changing our behavior when we regret past actions.

Quote:
The Wind -- by Yusuf (formerly Cat Stevens)
I listen to the wind
To the wind of my soul
Where I'll end up well I think,
Only God really knows
I've sat upon the setting sun
But never, never never never
I never wanted water once
No, never, never, never
I listen to my words but
They fall far below
I let my music take me where
My heart wants to go
I swam upon the devil's lake
But never, never never never
I'll never make the same mistake
No, never, never, never
