Crash override sent me 'Hell or High Water' by As Cities Burn. Aside from a couple of last.fm radio appearances and my brother owning a shirt for them a few years back, I had very little exposure to these guys before. It essentially amounted to what I expected, catchy post-hardcore with dabs of indie rock influences and eloquent, spiritual-themed lyrics, a-la mewithoutYou. Almost folkish at times even. But the lack of surprise doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it, I thoroughly did. Cody Bonnette's (yes I had to look that up) powerful tenor voice combined with a thick rhythm section and twinkly guitars provided a great listen, probably worthy of a few more. However I'm not sure if it will have any full lasting effects, time will tell though.
