Actually, I find the concept of everyone just instantly turning into hippie douchebags to be way more frightening than the world just blowing up, the latter is actually highly preferable.
And look, it's not like knowing all of the "facts" would really make a difference or change our minds. We understand what the general idea is, I have yet to see any evidence to back it up including the so called 'evidence' that has already been given.
Like you said, people are gonna believe what they're gonna believe, and to be honest, you didn't pick a good place to convert people to your beliefs, I for one think this is all absolutely ridiculous and for the most part it just plain depresses me that people actually buy into this stuff.
I mean the world was supposed to end at least 3 or 4 times during my lifetime alone. It was supposed to end in 1988, it was supposed to end in 2000, and then people said it was 2001, and then it was 07, and the Christian kooks have been postponing the end of the world ever since, they said it would end in 08, and then 09, now they're saying it will be 2010.
And when 2013 comes along, it'll all be about 2016, and then it'll be 2019, and then 2036, and it'll go on and on and on.
It's a never ending cycle perpetuated by the extremely gullible and the lucky sons of bitches who get rich off of it.
You'd think the mere fact that people can't even make up their minds about what exactly is going to happen might be a clear indicator that this is just bullsh*t. Maybe when this day comes and nothing happens, that'll be the day when everyone finally wakes up and realises how f*cking useless religion is and how it hampers the progress of all mankind.
Maybe that's the big event.
