I think the whole thing is bullshit. The original beauty of YouTube was the notion that anybody and everybody could publish videos to the net. YouTube became so popular because of the whole Web 2.0 idea: the idea that the internet is a democratizing place where everybody has the chance to publish their material and have it viewed by the world. Of course, this is not the case, and it's getting worse by all of these 'changes' and investments in the site. I know it is the nature of any net business but it just makes me angry.

The whole point of YouTube in the first place was putting yourself on the tube - that anybody could publish themselves on the internet. Now with all of this commodification, it's changing and all the little user channels are being wiped out by larger channels owned by big corporations. It sucks
