All of the 2012 theories have nothing to do with the Mayans or any ancient stuff, it's the work of the same assh*les who continue to push the Nostradomus hoax. The Mayans had wars to worry about, maybe they realised that a calandar that goes on FOREVER is just a waste of time.

I'm sure its been said, but 2012 is when the final cycle in a series will be complete. Something like 100 or 1000. So its based on astrological science.
Also, to discredit the Mayans isn't historically logical. You're talking about one of the major civilizations, existing at a time when technology wasn't advancing the cause. I don't know if people would easily dismiss the Roman, Persian, or Zulu empires as easily.
