To me the Hall of Fame has been a big success. People have exposed themselves to a lot of new music and it's not as easy as just being a popular trend or having a small but vocal following to get in.

One of my favorite bands and a group that no objective voter would ever vote against didn't make it and I still think overall we've gotten a lot more right then wrong. Plus you can always renominate and make a better case for their inclusion.

A major goal of the thread was to get people to speak passionately and informatively about why they like a particular band as much as they do.

Here's one that'll blow your mind, since I've been here I've found that the most anti-elitists are actually more elitist then the elitists themselves.

If you're posting in the music forums make sure to be thoughtful and expressive, if you're posting in the lounge ask yourself "is this something that adds to the conversation?" It's important to remember that a lot of people use each thread. You're probably not as funny or clever as you think, I know I'm not.
