21. Aphex Twin

Ok this is actually really interesting, at least to me. Richard David James' twin brother was born dead (The twin's grave is actually pictured on the cover of the Girl/Boy EP). So that's where they got the twin part from.
The Aphex part is not really interesting at all and really spectulative. "Aphex" may come from "Aphididae", a very large insect family in the aphid superfamily. The species in this family are famous for the russian-doll styled reproduction.

22. Arcade Fire

To quote Win Butler concerning the rumor that the bands name was based on the story about an arcade fire-- "It's not a rumour, it's based on a story that someone told me. It's not an actual event, but one that I took to be real. I would say that it's probably something that the kid made up, but at the time I believed him".

23. Primal Scream

Both the name and the music (formless, loud, guitar-based) were influenced by the primal scream therapy theory.

Primal therapy is a trauma-based psychotherapy developed by Arthur Janov. During therapy the patient is encouraged to express their feelings in whatever way they need to, such as talking, crying, hitting a wall, masturbating, curling up in a fetal position, and sometimes even screaming-- in order to express childhood, perinatal and prenatal feelings.

The whole idea of the music was that it was supposed to be somewhat instinctual and primal in nature.
