But regardless of how many people tell you you're beautiful, it's still dependent on you believing it for yourself. It's not so much what they are or aren't saying, it's more what you think about yourself. You shouldn't have your self confidence relying on what people are saying about you.
You also don't need to react to compliments. A compulsory need to react to compliments often leads to compulsory decisions based on them as a way to reciprocate. You can answer a compliment with a smile and simply walk away.
If you've been hurt by reciprocating to praise, you should be careful, because, as you know, a lot of guys will just say things to stroke the ego as a way to get... um... jiggy with it?

I understand what you mean, though. I don't rely on their compliments as much as I had wanted to trust they meant what they said. "You're beautiful" always leads to them saying something more meaningful.
