my only point is that music is graded and rated all the time in reviews, and even regular people rate it in terms of good or bad, so of course music is subjective and i'm sure that some people will like kevin federline, katie perry, and other b.s. but that does not make it 'good' music.

i agree with that entirely, simple, plain, emotionless, uninspired rock.

Yeah but the reviews in the magazines just happen to be published opinions of people just like you and me, also popular opinion shouldnt have any influence when forming your own opinion.
It doesnt make it 'bad' music either though. Just not to your taste.

As for the Foo Fighters, they shouldnt be totally slated for everything they do as they have done some good music (particularly the first album & 'There Is Nothing Left To Lose', also I enjoyed 'In Your Honour'). I agree they are overrated in the sense that they are what I would call an inconsistent band. They put out a good album and then a sh1t one. So I can understand people hear a certain album after hearing a good one then lose interest. I wouldnt describe them as 'simple','plain', 'emotionless', 'uninspired' though. There are a lot more plain, uninspired rock bands out there than the Foo Fighters. I think you were a bit harsh there.
