DUDE. Hawkwind is one of your favorite bands. Hell, The Fall covered sci fi stuff a good deal. The Pixies too. And David Bowie. And Parliament/Funkadelic. And Alice Cooper. And Can. And Kraftwerk. And Judas Priest. And Flaming Lips. And Jimi Hendrix. And Iron Maiden. And Roxy Music. And Sonic Youth. And T Rex. And Joy Division. And The Orb. And Stereolab. And Elvis Costello. And UFO.

All had sci fi themes. If you picked out every song with sci fi themes in your collection. There would be a lot of them.

It's very far from just a prog thing. Granted just about every prog band has done at least one sci fi themed song.

As for the neo classical thing, fair enough. But aside from some of the prog metal, and some of ELP's stuff, I wouldn't classify a lot of prog as "neo classical rock".

The odd song fine , but not whole albums, Hawkwind being obvious exception. And I guess Diamond Dogs too.

Oh yes, smashing album.

.....

See what I did there? Hehe.

Lamest pun EVER.
