I still maintain that Oasis were great until their third album when it all totally went to their head... the egos, the drugs, the fights, whatever.... all got pretty tired at that point because the music got overbloated, repetitive and full of the expected rock cliches that we've all come to dread and tire of...
But maybe, just maybe, for a couple of years and a couple of albums they actually were one of the best bands in the world as far as melodic stadium rock goes. They certainly had a big sound and some really big choruses to match. I almost wish I didn't get rid of my copies of (Whats the Story?) Morning Glory and Definitely Maybe.... because in hindsight, they were actually pretty strong albums with very few dud songs on them.
