Actually for me it's the reverse. I personally prefer their later material as they progressed beyond the blues stuff.
My favorite album is either II or PG. I love all their albums up until ITTOD and CODA.
The only good song ITTOD has is In The Evening, Coda is ok, there's some nice tunes in there but no standouts.
