I have no idea what Thom is singing about though, something about a 'gun' and 'a pack of sandwiches' and 'nothing'. But the lyrics aren’t important they’re abstract if anything and open to your own interpretation. Street Spirit itself isn’t as experimental as its b sides, but its still a great song. Revolving around an arpeggio guitar the song is probably the best off the entire Bends album. The music video is a must see, filled with beautiful images of random objects and (people) suddenly going into slow motion while everything around them remains at a normal speed. Another B side Bishop's Robes is similar to Talk Show Host and shows the band experimenting more with keyboards and less guitar work.
