Now I can't get enough of this stuff. They say it's a new sound.... but if you listen to the elders of classic country you will hear the foundations set. Nevertheless, the bands who have expanded this sound and made it thier own, have created a sound that is purely, American. Thus Americana. The darkness in the stories, the plots of the songs are, indeed, Gothic.

In short, I have found faith once again in American music. For the longest time, I was becoming more, and more, disenchanted with music.

No offense to those who love todays country music...but it reeks of corporate influence, it's just too "pop" for me.

I believe Gothic Americana is an evolution of the "roots" of country.

Just my opinion.
Don't worry. I am pretty sure that most of the people in this thread hate modern country. I despise it.
