Solo, I'd say
the Idiot or
Lust For Life. I've heard
New Values is meant to be great too, but I don't have that one myself. As for the Stooges, any of the first three albums Iggy did with them. I can get you a link or two, but you'll have to bear with me for a day or so before I can.
