Man isn't evil or good; the human race just has the capacity to do both well.
I really don't believe that one or the other is inherently built in. We do what has been programmed into us to do from years of evolution, what moral code we've been taught, what our religious men & institutions tell us and what society deems acceptable behaviour (The laws we do or don’t follow, our peers, social standing…). Everyday you're views shift slightly in accordance to what the media, family, friends, colleagues, politician’s etc have to say (Take political correctness for example). What you might consider evil someone else might consider acceptable behaviour and vice versa. Only you, from the actions you have done and the way you feel about them can make the judgement whether what you’ve done was a good or evil act and casting a broad generalisation like is man good or evil over everyone isn’t going to work.
