I usually lean towards the indie variety. Lately, its been: Bon Iver, Horse Feathers, City in Colour, Fleet Foxes (lots of whisper-rock).
But I tend to enjoy whatever works. I find pop music fascinating for its mass appeal and booty-shakin, and never shy away from listening to something new. Personally, I don't lean towards country or metal hard core - although can appreciate them (one, as an Americana tradition, the other for its sheer difficulty/complexity)... Its a vague love affair, I know.
