Sxip Shirey and Adam Matta
This year I spent part of my New Year's Eve listening to these two guys perform in a dark, cavernous space in Boston. They're really small time and I had never heard of them before but I was completely blown away by the performance. All there is to the music is Adam Matta beatboxing and Sxip Shirey playing various novelty instruments through a couple effects pedals but live they are absolutely freaking amazing. The little nuances are what make the music interesting so I highly recommend listening to these three clips either with headphones or through a pair of decent speakers. Anyway, here are the clips:
