Fosse is a great director. Cabaret is also one of my favorite films by him, and of all time. Were you impressed with Chicago? I saw the film before I saw the play... and I saw the play locally at The Palace (in upstate NY), and wasn't impressed with the actors that much. The film version wasn't exactly clever, but it certainly grabbed me. (Or did CZJ grab me? Not sure

).
