There's always going to be pros and cons to using Macs, Windows based PC or any other alternative.

The issue is that people need to know what they need and which option is going to give them that.
I completely agree.

To be honest I don't have a grudge against PCs. I own two laptops - one Mac and one PC, and there are things that I can do in one that I cannot do on the other.

Whether you get one or the other depends on your lifestyle. This will also determine how often, if at all, your PC crashes. If Urban Hatemonger's friend bought a consumer grade Mac thinking that it's as powerful as a Pro Mac or even Pro PC, then it will crash, especially when you install Bittorrent, Limewire, and such. These are factors that exist outside the Mac's hardware. Now, Urban may be taking care of his PC, never overstepping his RAM, doing work that his Processor can handle - maybe upgrading it a few times.

Macs aren't hardware. They WILL crash if you don't know how to take care of them, same with a PC. This is why Apple offers all of the lessons they do, both free AND with an annual membership cost.

It ALL goes back to WHAT you're doing, WHO you are, and WHAT you're using your computer for. And perhaps most importantly, how LONG you're planning to keep it.
