Does Ann Arbor count as southeast Michigan? I have a good friend from there and she has a very strong accent that sounds the same to me as a Detroit accent.

Yes. Especially people from the south side. The north side has more people who move there from elsewhere (like I did several years ago) so the accent isn't as distinct.
