When was the last time that band had any sort of mainstream prime time exposure?

Nobody save a few diehard fans give a toss about anything you have done since , your album & ticket sales have plummeted through the floor and you're probably making hardly any money in the intervening 20 year period.....
And then you get a call to appear on prime time American TV.
You'd be a f
ucking idiot to turn that down whoever you are. Hell , Forget the money (Which probably wasn't that much anyway) you'd probably do it just to show that you're still around in the hope that it gets a few more bums on seats for your next tour.
Besides I don't see what the big deal is. Virtually all bands mime in music videos as well , how is that any different?
