Well, I'm not going to tell you In Rainbows is necessarily a progression from HTTT, Amnesiac, etc, but the reason I enjoyed In Rainbows to a point was because it felt like, I dunno, Thom Yorke had finally found his happy place or something.

Bodysnatchers are both fairly upbeat, plus I personally feel the
Weird Fishes/Arpeggi is just as high calibur as any of the supposed "favorites" from their past albums (Fake Plastic Trees, There There, Pyramid Song, etc).
IMO, you just need to forget everything they've done in the past when you listen to IR, and I swear you'll enjoy it a whole lot more.
