Yup, I intentionally left that out. The right thing was ending slavery. Unfortunately, that decision divided the nation and caused a war. His approval rating was very low because of that. Of course it was mostly slave owners that disapproved. You still have to consider them when determining the approval of a president and his choices. I believe Lincoln was one of the greatest presidents in history, but that doesn't change what happened when he was in office.

Ultimately, someONE has to make a decision. Do the ends justify the means? Only if the ends were justifiable in the first place.
