Of course UK and America would get the top votes in this... they are biggest countries and thus have a higher population and more music artists to chose from! I doubt many people in this forum have heard ANY of Australia's best music because they don't have access to it/ because Australia kinda gets drowned amidst British and American culture. Most of my favourite bands are from UK/USA for this reason. But I do listen to heaps of Australian music and think it's so much better than a lot of the stuff I hear from the larger countries.

I think a lot of what's underlying this thread is not what country makes the best music but what countries have produced the most successful/ well-promoted bands which make good music...
