Hmm, I enjoy anonymity when it comes to music. I rarely read biographies, and when I do, I skip over the personal details to read about the recording sessions for albums and that kind of thing.

I would just hate knowing all about the person that Elvis Costello wrote "Alison" for. (Yes, Alison might be a composite/imagined, etc. but you get my point). Girl From The North Country stopped seeming as special to me when I found out who Dylan wrote it about.
