May I recommend The Saints. The first three albums are all outstanding 70's Punk.
(I'm) Stranded from 1977.
Eternally Your from 1978.
Prehistoric Sounds from 1979.
These 3 albums are from the Bailey/Kuepper line up and all releases after these, when Kuepper split, morphed into basic pub Rock.
The Saints were ripping it up as early as 74 and heavily influenced by MC5, Pretty Thing and The Stooges.
Kuepper went on to form the at times magnificent Laughing Clowns who could be described as Jazz/Punk, for want of a better term, and is still releasing records to this day.
The original line up actually reformed and headlined a festival called Pig City in Brisbane Australia in 2007. Approximately 7,000 people attended including myself
