You do crack me up sometimes. Many many drummers have come after Lombardo who are faster on the double bass. Most are useless and can only do that. He has command over his whole kit yet he never showboats. He is one of the tightest drummers you will hear and 'Reign in Blood' is one of the finest drum tracks ever laid down.
This is not a clinic just one of his best drum tracks (and a great remix too). Most thrash drummers will lose a certain BPM throughout a frenetic track regardless of pace, because the urge to ' go faster' overides their proficency. Not Lombardo. He is methodical and intense:
